another option would be to make a long duster style cardigan. that would be easier to put on 😁
for measurements i would just need the desired chest width, arm length and circumference, and desired length.
for yarn, i can send you a sample of a soft, not expensive yarn that i’ve been using. since the sweater will be essentially throw blanket size, it will eat up a lot of yarn (a rough estimate would be 20 skeins). we can discuss further off GMHHAY 😃
