Good morning, good morning, sorry I’m late, did the usual Friday ringamorale of recycling center and Walmart. Fun timez. Walmart still hasn’t explained how the remodel will be done “this month” but the grand re-opening is in May. Very mysterious. Special needs guy stood right behind an old man in the parking lot as the old man was putting his cart away. Then the old man turned around and there was special needs guy, like six inches away from him, towering over him. He freaked out and yelped the cutest old man yelp. I watched all of this happen from the comfort of my truck cab. Felt bad for that old man. It was all very weird.
I am hungover from a phenomenally productive pools meeting last night. I may have just eaten some Breakfast Doritos. Emma was annoyed with me, worried I wouldn’t pull off getting Jane to school. This was not unreasonable, as it has happened before, ONCE. Just once. But it has happened. But not today. I did it all. Jane was great too. Real gem this morning. She is wearing a hello kitty shirt and pink pants. It’s a great outfit if I do say so myself. And she actually put it on herself, which was nice.
In my drunkenness, as I was brushing my teeth before bed, I marveled at the elegance of these magical toothpaste caps that Aubrey introduced me to. I know I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: Aubrey is a true hero for solving that problem. These things rule. Their permanent cleanliness is just the best. Buy some!
I am listening to the new Mark Kozelek Sun Kil Moon EP. I know he was cancelled but I’m gonna check it out anyway. And it has actual songs and choruses and is not a bunch of rambling lyrics with noodling Spanish guitar. So that is nice. Three actual songs. It is an accomplishment for this dude.
The solar roof materials were just delivered. They gave me a date of starting on Monday, but then the dude on the phone told me they were going to start today, but postponed because it’s raining. These people are not equipped to keep a client informed for eight months while they wait for their roof. Kinda the most inept client communication I have experienced in a long time. But it is a new product, I’m one of the first in the country getting the new V2 of these particular (decidedly non-tesla) solar shingles. Its been ages but it is finally happening and I’m so excited.
And perfect timing because the greenhouse is… well, no, it’s not done. But the greenhouse electric is done, and it is awesome, and the greenhouse has all (well most) of its beds in it and they are filled with soil and mulch and it looks so good check this shit out:
How good is that? I am so psyched. This thing is going to rule. We are days (today?) away from putting a seed in the dirt. So close, so close.
Hrm well I don’t seem to have much else to say. Excited for the weekend. Sad about the rain. Happy it was 42 degrees this morning.
I’m gonna go do stuff now, so much to do. Tons of real-job work today, pool work, organizational chores and computer chores and stuff stuff and stuff. Some day I will tell you all about all the stuff.
Some day.
But not today.
Today’s Media of the Day is this Psych Rock playlist, keeping with the Slift kick from yesterday. Got a couple great older gems in here like the December Sound. They recently came back into my consciousness. Wonder what happened to them. That dude was pretty cool, good guy if I recall. One of the only bands in Boston in a similar milleu as us at the time. Last time I saw them was playing with Sonic Boom at Mercury Lounge. Maybe 12 years ago.
Time time time see what has become of me.
Have a lovely weekend. Plant something, if you can.
xoxo
I'm zooming in on that greenhouse photo to see how those curtains work. Can you reach them to open them up more or not? Can't seem to figure it out. Did you explain that in an earlier post I missed? I am very envious of that greenhouse.
the greenhouse looks amazing! at first i thought that the fan on the far wall was one of those wide angle driveway mirrors and i was dying to know why you had put one of those in the greenhouse. lol.
